| Great Places to
Fly! Okay, we didn't fly the Remos there, but this was the most fun I've had in a non-Remos aircraft. Michelle
was great, very informative, and really took care of us. Alaska was beautiful, I highly recommend Island Wings for a
great seaplane adventure in Alaska. Yes we saw bears when we landed up in the mountains!! http://www.islandwings.com/ Chalet Suzanne, Lake Wales, Fl. If you want to catch-up on your Civil-War history, check out the Nash Farm Battle Field! The location is just south
east of Atlanta Georgia and the location of the largest Calvary raid in Georgia history. It is the final battle for
Atlanta during Sherman's march to the Sea. Re-enactments are held at various times of the year. http://www.henrycountybattlefield.com/ The Atlanta Motor Speedway is home of numerous racing
events. The 1.54 mile quad-oval track has 24 degree banked turns and was opened in 1960. Do you know who holds
the 500 mile race record? Find the answers on our aircraft for sale page scroll to the bottom of page. http://www.atlantamotorspeedway.com/ Stone Mountain Georgia is a major attraction for the Atlanta area. Located on 3200 acres, the huge rock formation protrudes above
the plains of Atlanta. The Carving depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War: Confederate President Jefferson
Davis, General Robert E. Lee and Lt. General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. The mountain is 825 feet
tall. The carving is larger than a football field. Other attractions at the park include train and boat
rides, and a fabulous laser light show during the Summer months. http://www.stonemountainpark.com/ If you are looking for that great airport restaurant...look no further! The Flying Machine located at Gwinnett
County Airport, Lawrenceville, Georgia (LZU) is it. The staff will never let your ice tea get below half a glass before they fill it up again.
Use caution...this type of service will greatly reduce the endurance on your next leg!!! If your are traveling
anywhere near Atlanta, make sure to plan your fuel stop here and enjoy good food and great entertainment. http://theflyingmachine.com/ The HISTORIC AIRCRAFT RESTORATION MUSEUM is a non-profit organization
located at Creve Coeur Airport (1H0). The museum has on display one of the largest collections of flying antique, classic
and sport aircraft in the country. The museum conducts guided tours from 10:00 am to 4:00
pm (Central), Saturdays, Sundays, or by appointment during the week. There are usually 30 to 40 aircraft hangared in the three
main museum buildings, with at least that many scattered throughout the airport. http://www.historicaircraftrestorationmuseum.org/ Why not send us your pictures, and a brief
summary, and we'll post it! |
